5 to 20

Until November 15th, for every 5 Minion Points you earn you can request a coupon good for $5 off a badge, up to $20 off the total.

We’re about to open registration, and also begin the engine to support minion points.

In case you missed it above until November 15th, for every 5 Minion Points you earn you can request a coupon good for $5 off a badge, up to $20 off the total.

As a result we’re going to offer a special option for those who want to give Minion Points a try, but aren’t sure exactly how it can help.

So if you earn just a few points you can save some green, really push it and you can drop the price pretty effectively.

The coupon you earn will be usable until Feb 2011, so you can decide how to use it after you earn the points.

So submit your points now, and claim the coupon before November 15th! The coupon cannot be combined with other discounts or offered.

Transparency

One of the interesting things about Wyrd Con is in many ways we try to be transparent about our processes and show the evolution of how things change through the convention development process.

The downside to this is things can change more frequently, and some people may be confused. Is it more interesting to see the evolution of the schedule and events, or better to only to provide information when we’ve determined it’s final resting place?

A breakdown of Starship Valkyrie

Christian Brown posted his experiences of running the event ‘Starship Valkyrie’ at Wyrd Con One this year.

Starship Valkyrie

The Valkyrie LARP ran at Wyrdcon One, June 12th, 2010. I had worked on the game for many months prior to that date, and I was uncertain whether I would have enough players to run. I decided to prepare two scenarios – in the first, the ship would be run with a skeleton crew because of an accident in space, and then the second would be the full combat scenario. I was prepared to run with as few as ten players. I ended up with twenty-six.

An Apology

It has been brought to my attention that there has been a misunderstanding over a statement I made at the costume contest regarding Tom R’s costume. I stated the costume was not my first choice. This was an unintended, misspoken, and inappropriate joke. The comment was not targeted towards others (nor was I aware of which group Tom was with). I apologize to Tom, Realms of Conflict and everyone for any uneasiness this may have caused.
