Wyrd Con’s Designer Compensation System
We are still evaluating to design a system that will fully compensate Wyrd Con Designers for their efforts. Expect this to evolve year over year.
This system is designed to be simpler than Two Wyrd’s system, and requires no additional setup or effort on the Designer beyond their event submissions. (That means we do all the work for you!)
Tri Wyrd’s Designer formulas:
- A Designer is granted a free designer badge for submitting at least three hours of event activity, regardless of attendee participation.
- A Designer is granted a free minion badge if they run over 13 hours of event activities, regardless of attendee participation.
- A Designer earns an additional Minion badge code for every 70 Attendee Hours (Number of Attendees in event multiplied by hours of event duration) their live action event supports.
Additional Minion Badges are calculated based upon the amount of pre-registrants you have received for your event.
As a result you receive additional badge codes for your minions as your event gains pre-registrations.
Badge codes are always released during the first week of the month to Designers and Designers will always be able to check their pre-registration status online.
New Designer and Seniority Benefits
These are additional perks Designers receive at Wyrd Con for being a new Designer, or one that has returned.
Wyrd Con actively seeks variety and rewards Designers who constantly change their events and activities.
- If a Designer runs a unique panel not previously hosted at Wyrd Con that Designer will earn a Food Voucher.
- A Designer who has never run an event at Wyrd Con before has priority in placement of any event that runs 4 hours or less.
- All Designers can receive priority placement in the event schedule if they submit their intention to run an event at Wyrd Con prior to December 31st.
- If a Designer runs an event type or genre greater than two hours that has not been hosted at Wyrd Con in the last year the Designer will earn 3 Food Vouchers for use as they see fit. The determination if an event or genre is unique is solely up to Wyrd Con.
- Designers will have the amount of years they have been a Designer tracked on their badge. (If printing permits)
- A Designer who has operated or lead a group for three subsequent years at Wyrd Con is entitled to have a color vinyl banner made for display at the convention. Wyrd Con will contact the Designer to discuss their banner directly after they submit their events for the upcoming year. This offer is only available if an event is submitted 6 months prior to the convention. This can only be earned by a Designer or Designer’s Group once.
- Designers who in the past have run larger events, shall have priority over their room location to better sustain their event.
